📌 1. Information Collection & Use

Shimeji Pet is designed as a private, client-side entertainment tool. We do not require account creation, social login, or personal profile registration.

• No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location.
• No Analytics Tracking: We do not integrate third-party advertising trackers or behavioral telemetry SDKs.

💾 2. Local Device Storage

All data generated within Shimeji Pet is stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences:

• Selected companion pets and 9-slot roster configurations
• Walking speed and screen boundary constraints
• Active status bar battery emoji preferences
• User-configured to-do notes and alarms

⚙️ 3. Android System Permissions

To provide floating desktop pets and status bar widgets, Shimeji Pet requests specific Android permissions:

• SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Display over other apps): Permits desktop pets to walk and float interactively over your home screen and applications. No window content or user screen recording occurs.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Keeps pet animations active and responsive without system termination. A persistent notification is displayed while pets are active.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Automatically resumes your active pet roster when your phone reboots (if enabled in settings).

🌐 4. Third-Party Content Network

When downloading additional open-source community pets via the Pet Gallery, asset sprite sheets are fetched from https://openpets.dev over secure HTTPS. No device identifiers or user tokens are attached to these content requests.

🗑️ 5. User Data Rights & Account Deletion

Because Shimeji Pet does not maintain cloud accounts or remote servers:

• In-App Data Erasure: You can wipe all app settings and preferences instantly in-app via Settings ➔ Account & Data Deletion ➔ Delete & Reset Local Data.
• Storage Clear / Uninstall: Clearing Shimeji Pet storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app permanently and irreversibly deletes all stored data from your device.

👶 6. Children's Privacy Compliance

Shimeji Pet strictly complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR regulations. The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
